Canal man murders partner, kills self

Police on the West Bank of Demerara are investigating a murder/suicide which occurred on Tuesday at Belle West, Canal No. 2, West Bank Demerara.

Reports indicate that the man, a barber identified as Peter Charles and his partner, were inside a Nissan Xtrail when he shot her and then turned the gun on himself.

The young woman identified as Asasha Ramzan also known as Sasha had recently graduated from law school and worked at the Attorney General Chambers.

Regional Commander Mahendra Siwnarine said investigators are on the scene.
