Teams eager for strong showing in KFC School Football tournament

Five of the six competing teams in the KFC Goodwill School Football tournament expressed they are out for glory and are eager to get on the park from Thursday.

Speaking at a briefing on Tuesday at the KFC branch, Vlissengen Road, various representatives from the teams expressed a desire to perform well but also have fun as they showcase their talent.

This year, St Benedict’s College (Trinidad and Tobago) and SVB Academy (Suriname) are the overseas teams who will come against defending champions Annai Secondary, Christianburg Wismar Secondary, D.C Cesar Fox Secondary (Waramadong) and Golden Grove Secondary.

To cater to the ongoing One Guyana President’s Cup and the World Cup final, along with the inclement weather, they have made slight adjustments to the schedule.

Instead of a start on Wednesday, play with commence on Thursday at 14:00h at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Facility, Providence, with Christianburg Wismar facing Annai followed by Waramadong and Golden Grove Secondary from 16:00h.

The action will continue on Saturday with Christianburg facing SVB Academy from 14:00h followed by St. Benedict’s and Waramadong from 16:00h.

Marketing Manager of KFC Guyana Inc., Pamella Manasseh during the simple but significant ceremony noted, “it’s a privilege for us to be part of this tournament and we look forward to bigger and better things from you (Petra). We want the athletes to succeed and we hope that while on the field you lead by example.”
