U-13 Cricket: Ramtahal takes five to give T&T series lead
Trinidad and Tobago’s off-spinner Shaan Ramtahal picked up a five-wicket haul to wreck Guyana and lead his team to a three-wicket victory in the third match of the Under-13 Bilateral/Goodwill series on Thursday at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
The win secured Trinidad and Tobago a 2-1 series lead, with the final game on Saturday.
Trinidad and Tobago won the opening game by nine wickets, while Guyana rebounded in game two to win by 43 runs.
Guyana made 90 all out in 37.4 overs with Khush Seegobin topscoring with 20 and Ethan Silas scoring 12.
Ramtahal was the chief destroyer again for T&T with impressive figures of 5-21 of eight accurate overs. Ramtahal now has 11 wickets in the three matches. Tyler Ramroop and Aiden Owen had a wicket each.
In reply, Trinidad and Tobago got to their target of 91 in 28 overs. Vice-captain Mikaeel Ali, who looks a lot like West Indies star batsman, Nicholas Pooran, scored a shot-filled 37 off only 39 balls, decorated with four fours and two sixes.
Ramtahal returned with the bat to score nine not out under pressure. With four runs required for victory, it was Ramtahal who fittingly ended the match with a boundary through the leg side.
Richard Ramdeholl was again among the wickets for Guyana with outstanding figures of 4-5 off eight miserly overs in a losing cause.
The final match on Saturday starts at 10:00h at the National Stadium.
