    From six, only four remain.

Out are Golden Grove Secondary and SVB Academy from Suriname.

Defending Champions, Annai Secondary and D.C. Caesar Fox Secondary (Waramadong) have punched their tickets to the semi-finals of the KFC Goodwill School Under-18 Football tournament, after contrasting wins in their final group matches on Monday evening.

It means Annai will face St. Benedict’s College from Trinidad and Tobago in the first semi-final from 17:30h followed by the unbeaten Waramadong facing Christianburg Wismar Secondary from 19:30h.

Waramadong got the better of their Trinidadian counterparts in the dead rubber match, as both would have already qualified, but just a matter of who finished in one or two.

The boys from Region Seven, who have looked like one of the most fluent and coordinated teams on the field, won their match 2-0 with second-half goals from Kimron Thomas (60th) and Kenwen Percy (64th).

Meanwhile, the other group was wide open, as all of Annai, Christianburg, and SVB could have qualified based on this final match between Annai and SVB.

All the matches in the group were drawn encounters until Annai defeated SVB 2-1.

Though a draw would be good enough for the Region Nine unit to progress, they were on the back early after Suriname took the lead compliment of Pinas Denfinjo in the seventh minute.

Shavezz Moses squeezed his free kick through to level the scores in the 28th.

Annai Secondary (blue) battled hard to ensure they are still within the grasp of title retention

13 minutes into the second half, Guy Moses converted from the penalty spot to make it the winning score for Annai.

After Wednesday’s semi-finals at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue, the final and third-place playoff is scheduled for Friday at the same venue.
