Tiwatty Nandalall, 62, of Jib on the Essequibo Coast is pleading for the public’s help after her two-bedroom house went up in flames on Thursday last.

Nothing was saved, Lall told the News Room on Tuesday. Thankfully, Ms Nandalall said, she was not at home at the time the fire started. She was at a friend’s place at Hampton Court, also on the Essequibo Coast, attending a jhandi.

“Everything burn down…I am now homeless; everything went up in flames, everything,” she lamented.

She suspects a relative who was in the habit of threatening her may have set her house ablaze.

The woman is currently staying by her daughter. She said her son and husband passed away recently and she lived alone.

The widow is calling for assistance to rebuild her house.

Those wishing to help may contact Nandalall on 659 4656.
