Police are investigating the deaths of two men who were discovered separately on Thursday inside a drain and trench in Region Six.
The News Room has confirmed that police, at around 19:00hrs, received information that a male of East Indian descent was seen lying inside a trench along the Bloomfield Public Road in the vicinity of Thrill factory.
The man was clad in a blue and black long-sleeve shirt and cream-coloured pants. His body was removed from the trench and taken to the Port Mourant Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police later discovered a dark-coloured mark on the left side abdomen; blood was also oozing from his left ear. The body is presently at the Ramoo’s Funeral Home in Rose Hall Town, awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, at No.77 Housing Scheme, Corriverton, the body of 52-year-old Satyacharran Karamchand, known as ‘Imbai’, was found lying face down in a drain between 06:45hrs and 08:30hrs on Thursday.
His sister told the police that on the day in question, Karamchand left home after eating his breakfast and shortly after, she heard shouting on the street.
When she ran out, she saw her brother’s body. He was removed and rushed to the Skeldon Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No marks of violence were observed on the body. The investigation is ongoing.
