Guyanese man struck down on New Jersey road

A Guyanese man, identified as Robert Taylor, has died after he was struck down on a cross walk in New Jersey, where news reports say he was visiting.

Taylor died at the scene, according to a statement from Freehold Township police in New Jersey.

The driver, a 63-year-old woman, who was in the right lane when the crash happened about 7 a.m., was not injured, Police said.

Authorities said they were still trying to determine if the man was crossing against the light.

On his LinkedIn profile, Taylor described himself as an experienced mining accountant professional with years of demonstrative history across exploration and mining.

The Freehold Township Police’s Serious Crash Reconstruction Unit, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team are continuing their investigation, a news report stated.
