Man, 22, dies after motorcycle collides with van
A 22-year-old man died on Saturday after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a motor van at the Foulis Access Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Dead is Jevon Chappell, a resident of Section ‘D’ Non Pariel, ECD.
Police Headquarters reported that the motorcyclist was proceeding west along the southern side of the Foulis Road at a fast rate of speed.
While negotiating a right end, Chappell reportedly lost control of the motorcycle and collided into a motor van (#GJJ 9493) that was parked on the western grass parapet.
As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist was flung into the motor van and received injuries about his body.
An unknown caller reported the incident and Chappell was later found motionless. He was subsequently taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The body is at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting an autopsy. Investigations continue.
