Taxi driver gunned down in bedroom

Delon Josiah, a 37-year-old taxi driver, was shot multiple times in his bedroom by two masked men armed with handguns on Saturday night.

The News Room understands that the incident occurred at about 21:45hrs at Josiah’s Perseverance, East Bank Demerara (EBD) house.

The News Room understands that Josiah was sleeping in his bedroom while his wife, Nicosc McDonald and a friend were together at the front of the house.

At around 21:45hrs, the two women were confronted by the armed perpetrators who asked for Josiah.

They forced the women inside the house and started looking for Josiah when they found him in his bedroom.

The News Room understands that Josiah asked “Is who” as the gunmen entered the room and they immediately opened fire on him before escaping.

The police later found Josiah lying in a pool of blood with gunshot injuries to his right foot, left underarm, left temple, and behind an ear. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
