Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh on Monday announced that the low-income mortgage ceiling will increase to $20 million.

As he presented the 2023 National Budget, Dr. Singh explained that this budgetary measure will reduce the cost of borrowing from the commercial banks and ultimately, encourage more people to invest in home ownership.

The mortgage ceiling, before this increase, stands at $15 million.
