Public assistance, which is given to vulnerable citizens, has now been increased to $16,000 per month.
This is according to Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh, who presented the 2023 National Budget to the National Assembly on Monday,
This increase takes effect from January 1, 2023. It replaces the previous $14,000 sum given monthly.
This will provide over $700 million in additional disposable income to vulnerable individuals, Dr. Singh said.
