Residents in the community of Yakusari at Black Bush Polder in Region Six (East Berbice – Corentyne) were awakened Tuesday morning to the shocking news of a double murder.
A husband – 67-year-old Subnauth Budraj – and his wife – 65-year-old Sarasuati Devi Budraj – jointly operated the Bull Boy Shop.
They were both found dead and persons suspect they were killed in the furtherance of a robbery.
Reports indicate that the husband was found with his throat slit while the wife was found with reported stab wounds about her body.
Villagers have converged at the house following the news of the double murder. Police have since cordoned off the area to carry out investigations.
