The inaugural ‘Legendary Cup’ Futsal Championship, sponsored by Rocks Auto Trans and Spares Parts, will see the winning team take home G$500,0000.
Second, third and fourth-place finishers will receive $250,000, $150,000, and $100,000 respectively.
The tournament was officially launched Wednesday at the sponsor’s Charlotte Street location, where they announced the playing dates would be February 4th, 7th, 11th, 14th, 18th and 25th at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) will receive one motorcycle. Similarly, a patron will receive one motorcycle on the night of the final.
Yolandia Ross, Manager of the establishment, stated that the rationale behind staging the tournament is not only to market the company but to contribute to the entity’s social responsibility by giving back to the communities.
Meanwhile, Referees coordinator Wayne ‘Harry’ Griffith confirmed that all systems are in place for an exciting tournament that will feature 24 teams.
