Overseas-based Guyanese, Lester Lall plans to develop a new ‘Riverwalk’ area, featuring a hotel, amusement park and other attractions, on lands on the West Bank of Demerara (WBD), Region Three (Essequibo Islands- West Demerara).

Lall, in a press release, said the project will cost some US$75 million.

“RiverWalk will comprise a Deluxe Boutique Hotel and Spa, Luxury Condo Residences, Trendy Shops, Upscale Restaurants and Bars, and Live Concert Stage.

“Additionally, it will constitute the RiverWalk Boardwalk and Amusement Park, all of which will overlook the mighty Demerara River,” the release detailed.

Riverwalk promises to bring a world-class experience to Guyana while helping to stimulate the economy through the construction and post- construction phases, the release noted too.

Lall, the press release quoted, said that employees will benefit from remuneration packages similar to those of United States (US) employees and promised that there will be “concerted efforts” to train and develop Guyanese in hospitality related skills.

Before the project gets underway, it was noted that negotiations are being finalised for the acquisition of privately owned lands on the West Bank of Demerara.

Collaboration with local construction and supply companies in the development of the project has also been promised.
