A mother is seeking the public’s assistance to find her 19-year-old son, Teriq Audain, who left for work in Kurupung, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) and has been missing since.

Juneann Holland-James of Graham Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, told the News Room on Wednesday that her son has been missing since Sunday, January 29.

According to Holland-James, Audain hasn’t reached out to his family since leaving their home in January. But on Sunday, a man who she met on the day her son was leaving, contacted her via phone call and said her son left the camp at Kurupung and hasn’t returned.

Holland-James said she filed a missing person’s report at the Sparendaam Police Station. The distraught mother cannot recall the exact day her son left for work.

The woman cried on the phone as she explained that she hasn’t been eating or sleeping since she was told her son is missing.

“And I don’t know where he is. I just want to know which part my son is. I just want to know he is alright. I just want to hear his voice and say ‘mommy I’m alright. I just deh here. I couldn’t get signal to call you’. That is all I want. I just want to hear my son voice,” she tearfully said.

Persons with information about his whereabouts can contact the nearest Police Station or contact his mother on 671-5751.

Editor’s note: one day after this article was published, Juneann Holland-James said that the young man made contact with her.
