13 homeless after Grove house maliciously set on fire
Thirteen persons from four different families are now homeless after the house they were living in was maliciously set on fire.
The Guyana Fire Service, in a statement, noted that the fire started at about 02:34hrs at Grove Public Road, East Bank Demerara on Friday.
Water tenders from the Eccles and Diamond fire stations were immediately dispatched to the location.
The structure was a two-storey wooden and concrete building owned by Dacie Metamon, who is deceased.
While firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze, the building and everything inside was destroyed.
