GMR&SC issues call for female competitors at upcoming Drag Race Meet

The Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) is set to create history at its upcoming Drag Race meet, with an invitation being issued to female drivers to register for the February 19 event at the South Dakota Circuit.

The Club is aiming to host an all-female segment, and entrance fee for the female drivers is free. The deadline for registration and submission of medical forms is February 10 at the GMR&SC office on Albert Street and Thomas Lands.

The top four drivers with the best times will receive G$25,000 in cash, compliments of LG Air Conditioners. Notably, the female competitors will race only against their female counterparts.

Importantly, the GMR&SC has outlined that any car- modified or unmodified, automatic or manual- is eligible. On the issue of safety, all cars must be outfitted with a seat belt, and drivers must wear a helmet.

Admission to the venue on race day is G$1,000 for adult and G$500 for children. Action will get underway at 09:00h.
