A 19-year-old man died on Sunday night after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a trench at Taymonth Manor, Essequibo Coast, Region Two.
Dead is 19-year-old Devendra Khan, also known as ‘Ravin’, of Adventure Sand, Essequibo Coast.
The News Room understands that the young man was speeding and as he approached a turn on the public road, he lost control of the motorcycle and ended up inside the trench at around 19:00hrs.
It is believed that he drowned.
“We rushed out when we heard and then we saw the motorbike in the trench and we pulled he out but unfortunately he drowned,” one resident related.
The body was transported to the Suddie Hospital where Khan was officially pronounced dead.
