A 67-year-old man from Region Six (East Berbice- Corentyne) died on February 8 after he was infected with the novel coronavirus that causes the disease, COVID-19.
This is according to information released by the Ministry of Health on Friday. The man’s vaccination status is unknown.
Meanwhile, the ministry reported that another 14 people were infected with COVID-19 since February 9, when the last update was given.
That means a total of 73,032 people have been infected since March 2020. Of that sum, 71,646 people recovered and 1,297 people died.
Additionally, there are two people in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), four people in institutional isolation, and 83 people in home isolation.
