Man accused of plotting to kill city businessman remanded to prison

More than a week after a wanted bulletin was issued for him, a 36-year-old businessman was on Monday remanded to prison after he was charged with plotting to kill another.

Gansham Budhram called ‘Kevin’ of Block 8 Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

He was charged with conspiracy to commit murder contrary to Section 102 (a) of the Criminal Law (offences) Act Chapter 8:01, committed on a 34-year-old businessman of Subryanville, Georgetown

The incident occurred between December 30, 2022, and January 30, 2023.

Budhram was not required to plea to the charge and bail was refused. The case was adjourned to March 8.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) issued a wanted bulletin for Budhram on February 3; he was arrested on February 8.

The News Room understands that Budhram allegedly conspired with person/s unknown to murder a city businessman. The Police were informed and an investigation was immediately launched.
