Stanleytown man succumbs weeks after stabbing in Tucville

An 18-year-old succumbed on Tuesday, close to a month after he was brutally stabbed during an argument in Tucville, Georgetown.

The dead man has been identified as Joshua Faerber of Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara.

The stabbing occurred on January 18, 2023. Since then, Faerber was admitted as a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He never regained consciousness.

The suspect, who has been identified as Tyrone Hart, 17, a mason of Lot 84 Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, was charged with attempt murder and remanded to prison.

However, now that Faerber has succumbed, the suspect will soon face a murder charge.

The News Room was reliably informed that the incident stemmed from a triangular love affair.

Reports are that on the day in question, Fearber was in a yard at Tucville when he was approached by the suspect who accused him of having a relationship with his girlfriend.

An argument ensued during which the suspect left. He later returned and allegedly stabbed Ferber several times before he fled the scene.

A police investigation was launched and the suspect was subsequently arrested.
