21-Y-O dies after crashing motorcycle, young girl hospitalised
An accident along the Crabwood Creek public road Saturday night resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man and the hospitalization of a student.
Dead is Altaf Lalman and injured is Asma Lalman, a student of Line Path Secondary School. Both resided at Block 19 Line Path, Corentyne, Berbice.
The News Room understands that a pick-up, bearing license plate number PNN 4343, was on the eastern side of the road, attempting to make a left turn when motorcycle CL 8024, driven by Altaf collided with the left side rear of the pick-up.

The young girl was the pillion rider; the incident occurred at about 19:30hrs. Reports indicate that the girl and Altaf were flung from the motorcycle as a result of the impact.
They were picked up by residents and transported to the Skeldon Public Hospital where the motorcyclist was pronounced dead.
Because of the extent of her injuries, the teenager was transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital where she was admitted to the Emergency Unit. She sustained a fractured hip.
The driver of the pick-up is in police custody assisting with investigations.
