Eight wanted by SOCU for money laundering, other offences

The Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) has issued a wanted bulletin for eight persons in relation to money laundering and other serious offences.

Wanted are Aubrey Anthony Fraser, Leon Anthony Williams, Cassandra Alexandra McLennan, Melicia Adella Williams, Akeem Elijah Powers, Khadijah Nafeesah Long, Raul Jomal James and Denzel Lawrence Muir.

Seven of the individuals hail from various parts of Linden.

Muir’s last known address is Lot 194 First Street Mocha Arcadia, East Bank Demerara.

In the wanted bulletin issued on Tuesday, the Guyana Police Force said the individuals are wanted by SOCU for questioning in connection with money laundering and other serious offences committed in Guyana.

The Police Force did not disclose any other information, however, the News Room understands that the individuals are allegedly involved in an alleged Ponzi scheme.
