New weekend Safari part of Rainforest Tours’ events for 2023

Rainforest Tours on Monday announced that a new weekend safari is among the activities slated for 2023.

This new tour adds to this year’s twentieth Annual Pakaraima Mountain Safari in April. The four safaris on the list were announced by the Tour Company’s Managing Director Frank Singh while at a media briefing at GuyOil’s Kitty location on Monday.

The first Tour, the Moraikobai Safari will be held from April 23 to April 25. Persons will be able to travel through the Arawak village by travelling from an access point near Linden rather than taking the Mahaicony River.

Then,  there is the annual tour from Georgetown to Orinduik which allows participants to travel through 14 Amerindian Communities in Regions Four, Eight, Nine and Ten.

A new tour that takes participants from Georgetown to Mahdia, from Mahdia to Bartica, then to Rockstone, Linden finally a return to Georgetown. This tour is a weekend tour starting on August 17.

Finally, there is a tour that will be in Rupununi in November to coincide with Rupununi Day.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of the Guyana Oil Company (GuyOil) Molly Hassan, said that the petrol company is happy to be a partner for the tours.

“As a company in energy we are happy to be in the right place…we just heard that we will be testing the skills of drivers in the safari, well GuyOil and Castrol will be supporting all of the participants who will be putting their skills to the test,” she said. She added that GuyOil is very pleased to rekindle its partnership with Rainforest Tours.

The Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) Kamrul Baksh also expressed support for the tours.
