A 12-year-old boy lost his life on Sunday while fishing in a trench at Anna Regina, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
Dead is Masood Brown also of Anna Regina. He was also a student of the Al Madinah Islamic Academy
Reports indicate that the lad went missing during the fishing trip and after hours of searching, his motionless body was found by residents.
According to his aunt, Arifah Rahman, Brown went fishing around 10:00 hrs Sunday morning. She said around 11:00 hrs, they noticed he was missing. They made several checks around for him and did not find him.
She said they lodged a missing person’s report and then began to search in the trench. His body was found around 21:00 hours at Anna Regina. His body was fished out and taken to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead .
Brown was the only son of his parents. Pupils at the Al Mainah Islamic Academy were shocked having learned of his death on Monday.
