Car destroyed by fire in West Berbice
A car was completely destroyed on Wednesday afternoon after it caught fire at around 16:30hrs on the Number Three, West Coast Berbice public road.
According to a resident, police had stopped the car and told the driver that smoke was emanating from the engine.
The driver and an occupant were told to exit the vehicle. It subsequently went up in flames.
The News Room understands that the car was a PTT series Nissan and the driver and occupant are from Ithaca village, West Berbice.
By the time the fire service arrived the vehicle was completely engulfed.
