West Indies players Shai Hope and Shakera Selman hosted a special guest at Kensington Oval on Monday.

The two had an amazing coaching session and fun-filled activation with Armani Barrow – the three-year-old left-handed bowler, who was seen in a classic video which went viral. Armani is an enthusiastic cricket fan and the video was filmed at his home in the rural parish of St Joseph in Barbados.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) invited him and his family to Kensington Oval where he had a coaching clinic with Hope and Selman.

They were joined by international umpire Gregory Brathwaite; and social media influencer and broadcaster, Joel Manning. The activity was coordinated by Philip Spooner, CWI’s Manager for Media and PR.

“I’m so happy to be here. Armani is full of energy and enjoyed his time here at Kensington Oval running around and having fun. This is his first time at the Oval we did everything to make sure it was memorable,” Hope said.

Hope took time out from his schedule as he prepared to head to South Africa for the upcoming white ball series. Selman recently returned home after the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup also in South Africa.

At the end of the session Armani received some special gifts. He got a children’s playing kit with bats, balls and stumps courtesy of Republic Bank – valued sponsors of the Republic Bank Five For Fun programme.

Hope also presented him with a signed West Indies jersey. (CWI)
