Guyana Darts Association hosting Caribbean qualifiers from March 10

The Guyana Darts Association (GDA) is inviting players to compete in their qualifiers for the Latin American and Caribbean Darts Championships from March 10 at the Malteenoes Sports Club.

According to a release from the Association, the organisers of the regional championships announced an agreement with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), “to qualify a team to represent their country and region at the Darts World Cup to be held in Frankfurt, Germany, in June.

The GDA indicated that all countries in Latin America and the Caribbean region would be eligible to participate in the qualifying processes.

The local qualifiers will be in pairs – players participating as a team.

The release indicated that each participant country could qualify a maximum of two teams that will then travel to San Jose, Costa Rica, for the final qualifying tournament from May 13-14.

In Guyana, only affiliated members will be allowed to participate and two leagues will be played to shortlist six players after which a final league will be held to determine the final four players.

The GDA indicated that long-standing national champion, Sudesh Fitzgerald, has been asked to manage the tournament for which an entrance fee of G$2,000 will be charged.
