Demerara, Select XI open U-15 Inter-County with contrasting victories

Demerara and the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Select XI recorded contrasting wins in the opening round of the GCB Under-15 Inter-County 50-over competition.

While Demerara thumped Essequibo by 55 runs, the Select XI prevailed by the narrow margin of a single run against Berbice.

At Everest: GCB Select XI 71 all out from 29.2 overs (Vishal Williams 26; Efraz Khan 5-11, Romario Ramdeholl 3-8) vs Berbice 70 all out from 22.2 overs (Razam Koobir 20; Dave Mohabir 5-4). GCB Select won by one run

At Enmore: Demerara scored 213-9 from 50 overs (Emanuel Lewis 65, Trilok Nanan 51, Permeshwar Ram 37; Elisha Ramdatt 3-25, Jachniel Nurse 2-26) vs Essequibo 158 all out from 36 overs (Zandon Rose 62*, Elisha Ramdatt 24; T. Nanan 4-21, Mickle Sharma 4-21, Reyaz Latiff 2-30). Demerara won by 55 runs 

Round Two on March 15 will see Berbice taking on Demerara at Everest and Essequibo doing battle with GCB Select XI at Enmore.
