Harpy Eagles make 324 against Red Force; fifties from Sinclair, Johnson and Bramble

SUMMARY: Guyana Harpy Eagles 324 all out from 86.3 overs (Kevin Sinclair 69, Leon Johnson 62, Anthony Bramble 62, Keemo Paul 46, Kemol Savory 44; Imran Khan 4-80, Bryan Charles 3-85, Uthman Muhammad 2-31) vs Trinidad and Tobago Red Force 7-0

The in-form Kevin Sinclair, skipper Leon Johnson and wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble stroked half-centuries as Guyana Harpy Eagles recovered from a wobbly start to post 324 against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force on the opening day of their third round clash in the West Indies Four-Day Championship on Wednesday.

Playing at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad, points leaders Harpy Eagles slipped to 33-3 before three solid partnerships in the middle took them to 307-6.

There was another collapse however, that saw the last four wickets falling cheaply.

Guyanese all-rounder Kevin Sinclair

“Being bowled out was a bit of a damper. (But) I think we did well to recover from 30-odd for three to get to 324 at the end of the day,” captain Johnson, who is playing his last season for Guyana, told CWI Media at the close.

After the early loss of opening pair Tevin Imlach (4) and Matthew Nandu (10) and debutant Kevlon Anderson (6), Johnson and Kemol Savory repaired the innings with a partnership of 97 before both fell within 10 runs of each other to make it 140-5.

Johnson made 62 off 99 (12x4s) and Savory 44 off 109 (4x4s).

Sinclair and Bramble then put together 79 for the sixth wicket, before Bramble was dismissed for a run-a-ball 56 (8x4s, 1×6).
