Investigators are probing the death of a so far unidentified woman whose body was found on Friday at the Leguan foreshore.
Commander of Region Three, Mahendra Sewnarine told the News Room that the woman’s semi-nude body was discovered at around 08:00 hrs.
“We have found a semi-nude body on the foreshore. So far, we have not been able to identify the person because residents of the area don’t know it’s who, so are assuming probably the body washed ashore,” Sewnarine told the News Room.
Detectives will now await an autopsy report to determine how the woman met her demise.
“Until the [post-mortem], then we will know the cause of death because the body is already swollen,” the Police Commander said.
The autopsy is expected to be conducted in the new week.
Oh, what a horrible way to meet one’s demise. I trust that the deceased would be quickly identified so that she could be given a decent funeral. May her soul rest in peace.
