Select XI crowned champions of GCB U-15 Inter-County Championship

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Select XI were crowned champions of the GCB Under-15, 50-over Inter-County tournament after playing unbeaten in their three matches.

Captain by national Under-15 skipper Dave Mohabir, the Select XI wrapped up their superb campaign with a commanding 52-run win over Demerara in round three. Earlier, they defeated Berbice by one run and Essequibo by seven wickets.

At Enmore: GCB Select XI 118 all out from 39.5 overs (Kishan Silas 26, Dave Mohabir 20; Brandon Henry 4-17, Joshua Charles 2-14, Mickel Sharma 2-18) vs Demerara 66 all out from 33 overs (Arun Gainda 4-3, Dave Mohabir 2-10). GCB Select XI won by 52 runs

At GCC: Berbice 215 all out from 48.4 overs (Adrian Hetmyer 52, Razaam Koobir 40, Romario Ramdeholl 33, Arif Khan 24, Navin Boodwah 20; Nicholas Lovell 2-25, Bhomesh Lall 2-33, Ethan Silas 2-23) vs Essequibo 89 all out from 40.4 overs (Romario Ramdeholl 3-17, Arif Khan 3-27, Gavin Kisten 2-2). Berbice won by 126 runs

At Everest: Demerara 86 all out from 45 overs (Mickle Sharma 20; Arif Khan 4-21, Feaz Baksh 3-18) vs Berbice 87-3 from 41.3 overs (Richard Ramdeholl 21, Adrian Hetmyer 19, Navin Boodwah 18). Berbice won by seven wickets

The tournament was used to select the Guyana team to participate in the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Regional Under-15 Super50 tournament, starting April 2 in Antigua and Barbuda.
