Lap records tumble at South Dakota Grand Prix
Drivers and riders last weekend put down record-breaking times in the different categories on the new 2.5km (1.6 miles) South Dakota track at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club’s first circuit event of the year, dubbed South Dakota Grand Prix.
“On Sunday 19th March, several lap records were reset during the course of the day. In some cases, these records were reset multiple times throughout the course of the day,” Chief Time Keeper of the event Rohindra Mahase said.
Types of records:
Lap Record– These are records which are set by each individual class and are set only during an official race.
Overall Track Record– This is a record of the fastest time ever recorded at the track by any vehicle during any official session (practice, qualifying or race) using official timing equipment only.

The following records are official and verified by race day officials.
