One man is dead and another is injured following reports of an exchange of gunfire between a civilian and a Police Officer in Linden, Region 10 on Wednesday.
The dead man has been identified as 33-year-old Randy Jerome of One Mile, while 23-year-old Ronaldo Chapman called ‘Pappy’ of Half Mile reportedly suffered gunshot injuries and is hospitalised at the Linden Hospital Complex.
Chapman is a known character to the Police and was wanted for robbery under arms and rape.
The incident occurred just after lunch at the Wisroc, Wismar area at a house where the men were hiding out.
The News Room understands that a Police operation was underway when the men began shooting at the lawmen who returned fire and Jerome and Chapman were injured.
Jerome succumbed to his injuries. Police Headquarters revealed that two firearms with ammunition and a quantity of marijuana were found at the scene.
