Guyana Harpy Eagles are in firm control of their Regional Four-Day match against Jamaica Scorpions after they bundled the visitors for 115 in response to their first innings total of 278 at the National Stadium, Providence.

Batting a second time, the Harpy Eagles are 138-4 with Tagenarine Chanderpaul (60*) and Tevin Imlach (50*) at stumps.

Repairing the early damage from 33-4, the pair extended the Eagles’ lead to 301 with two days still remaining.

Resuming their first innings on 268-9, Harpy Eagles added ten more before being bowled out in 88.1 overs as captain Leon Johnson was stranded on 150*

Eagles, led by Nial Smith then skittled Scorpions for 115 in 35.5 overs.

Smith snatched 5-39 while Veerasammy Permaul accounted for 3-22 and Ronsford Beaton 2-22.

Derval Green, with a top score of 42 added 51 for the last wicket with Nicholson Gordon, who made 22*, as the Eagles opted not to enforce the follow-on after securing a 163-run lead.

Thus far, Marquino Mindley has taken all the second innings scalps with 4-30 from 11 overs.
