One week after the skeletal remains of a person was found at Kamwata, (a satellite community of Santa Rosa) Region One, the Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the remains.

Police Commander, Senior Superintendent Himnauth Sawh on Thursday told the News Room that there is no leads in the investigation.

He disclosed that investigators discovered that a woman was reported missing from Region One but efforts to contact her family have proved futile.

The News Room understands that ranks at Acquero Police Station received a telephone call on March 15 relating that the skeletal remains were found.

Upon arriving at the location, the ranks found the skull, bones, and hair some 800 meters away from the access road.

The DNA extraction is yet to be conducted by government pathologist, Dr Nehaul Singh, so that investigators can move forward with the case.

In the meantime, Commander Sawh said the Police have not given up on the search and is encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

The remains are currently at the Kumaka hospital’s mortuary.
