Suspect arrested for murder of Port Kaituma porknocker

Police have arrested the 17-year-old suspect in connection with the murder of  21-year-old porknocker Shimron Benjamin, who was found with his face bashed in on Tuesday morning.

Police Headquarters confirmed that the suspect was arrested around 08:10hrs by ranks of the Port Kaituma Police station.

He is currently in custody assisting with the investigation.

The lifeless body of Benjamin, of Quarry Top, Port Kaituma, North West District (NWD) was found in the grass with blood on his head about 30 feet from his home.

The murder occurred at Four Miles Village, Port Kaituma.

Police had reported that Benjamin was last seen imbibing high wine with the suspect and they both appeared intoxicated.

Benjamin’s body was discovered by a farmer, who immediately informed the village Toshao.

He was taken to the Port Kaituma District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His body is at the hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Police found a piece of rock with a reddish substance, suspected to be blood, at the scene.
