‘Packie’ charged with armed robbery, illegal possession of gun

Ronaldo Chapman, called ‘Packie’, a 23-year-old resident of Half Mile Wismar, Linden, was on Wednesday charged with the possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a license and the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

He was also charged with the armed robbery of Marlon David, which occurred on March 16, 2023, at Block 22 Back Road.

Police Headquarters reported that Chapman was arrested on March 22.

He appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Wanda Fortune, where the charges were read to him. He pleaded not guilty to the first three charges and was not required to plea to the armed robbery offense.

Chapman was remanded to prison until April 28.

Meanwhile, in a separate matter, he was committed to serve an 18-month sentence for the possession of narcotics which was done in absentia.
