While staying clear of offering details, Vice President, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, on Thursday said reports of a threat against U.S interests in Guyana is a serious issue and the Guyana Government is cooperating with U.S authorities to address it.

“It is a serious matter. We are giving it all of our attention but I don’t want to say anything more,” Jagdeo told reporters at a press conference held at Freedom House, Robb Street, Georgetown.

The United States (U.S) Embassy in Georgetown on Wednesday issued a statement warning its citizens that it has increased its security at its Duke Street, Kingston location after receiving threats against “U.S interests.”

Jagdeo would not say whether the threats were domestic or international.

“It’s getting the required seriousness from the State as well as the U.S government,” Jagdeo added.

A notice posted on the embassy’s website stated, “Out of an abundance of caution, we want to inform U.S. citizens that the embassy has increased security protocols due to receiving threats against U.S. interests.”

The embassy asked its citizens to stay alert and exercise heightened caution.

but nobody cares about what you say. As long as we can feed off the state’s trough and our house looks shiny who cares what anyone says.

This “doctor” says on FB and YT that he took over a bankrupt country and turned it around.

I say that, how is it that you took over a bankrupt country and you became filthy rich while the country is still near bankruptcy! HOW?!
