$1.54 billion in marijuana plants destroyed at Ebini, DeVeldt

The Police and the Army’s Coast Guard have destroyed marijuana plants with a street value of $1.54 billion at Ebini and DeVeldt villages in Upper Berbice River, Police headquarters reported on Thursday.

In the joint operation, 18 acres with approximately 58,000 plants ranging from three (3) inches to ten (10) feet in height were destroyed. Three camps, a trailer and two ploughs were also destroyed.

Police Headquarters did not say if anyone was arrested.
