Berbice clothes vendor nabbed with suitcase of ganja

A 39-year-old Berbice clothes vendor has been arrested after she was caught carrying a suitcase packed with 13 parcels of marijuana weighing 19.25 pounds.
Acting on a tip off, the Police stopped a car on Vlissengen Road, Georgetown on Wednesday afternoon. In the backseat was Shabika Spencer and next to her was the suitcase with the ganja wrapped in clear plastic.
She was arrested and taking to CID headquarters where the ganja was weighed in Spencer’s presence.
She remains in Police custody and is expected to be charged shortly.
