A 75-year-old Mahaicony man was burnt to death on Wednesday afternoon after fire from a rubbish heap next door spread to his house, trapping him inside.
Dead is Sammy Munian of Fairfield, Mahaicony.
The Guyana Fire Service received the report of the fire at around 16:00 hrs.
Mr Munian lived in a one-flat wooden building. The fire set to a rubbish heap next door spread to his house, destroying it.
It was when the fire was put out that Mr Munian’s body was discovered.
