Romario Ramdeholl’s compact and unbeaten innings of 54 was the pillar of Guyana Under-15 defeating Jamaica to secure their first win at the Regional 50-over Championships at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Thursday.

After the batsmen were disappointed in the opening match against Trinidad and Tobago, the Vice-captain stood tall as he struck five fours in his marathon innings of 123 balls, which led Guyana to 121 all out in 42.2 overs.

Ramdeholl and Sohail Mohamed (10) were the only two batters to reach double figures with Nicoli McKenzie bagging 4-24 from eight overs and Demarco Scott 3-21 from 10 overs.

According to a post from the Guyana Cricket Board on their official Facebook page, Jamaica required 97 for victory in their innings which was reduced to 33 overs innings due to rain.

They were dismissed for 96 off 32.1 overs with Dhanesh Persaud taking 2-6 from five overs and Dave Mohabir 2-19 from six overs.

In the Super Over, Jamaica made five with Guyana getting the required six off the very first delivery compliments of an overthrow for four.

Guyana will face the Windward Islands in round three on April 8 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.
