12 months jail for Wakenaam man busted with cocaine, smoking utensil

A 37-year-old fisherman of San-Soucie, Wakanaam, was on Tuesday sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for the possession of narcotics for trafficking and the possession of a smoking utensil.

Police Headquarters reported that Michael Domingo appeared before Magistrate Crystal Lambert at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court; he was charged under the Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substance Control Act.

He had in his possession 1.7 grams (less than an ounce) of cocaine.

According to the Police, Domingo, during his court appearance, pleaded guilty to both charges and was later sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with a fine of $30,000 for the offence of possession of narcotics. He was also fined an additional $30,000 for possession of a smoking utensil.
