The quartet- Avinash Ramgolam, Keith Beaton, Roger Peroune and Yam Chan Chu- all medalled, returning home with one gold, four silver and one bronze medal.

Ramgolam copped the lone gold, competing in the Men’s Kata, while Peroune won bronze in the same category.

Ramgolam also won silver in his weight class in Kumite, while Beaton copped silver in his weight class in Kumite.

Chu returned home with a pair of silver medals, won in the Women’s Kata and Kumite.

ASK-G, in a social media post, outlined: “The team shared the same sentiments of this tournament being a great re-introduction into international competition and will now begin intense prep for the Caribbean Karate Federation Caribbean Championships being held in The Dominican Republic in late July. The dojo is proud of the team and had no doubt they would have represented us well.”

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Open attracted participation from six countries.

Team Guyana was sponsored by Team Mohamed’s, Hanoman’s Dental and Yams Photography.
