Police have arrested two men in connection with the brutal stabbing of 22-year-old Sureshpaul Ramphal, a labourer of Bushlot Village, Corentyne Berbice.
Those in custody have been identified only as Navin Ramphal and Dave; the incident occurred on April 8 at a supermarket in the community.
The News Room understands that Ramphal and Navin had an argument at their workplace earlier in the day; later, when Ramphal visited the supermarket, he saw the suspects standing outside.
He claimed that they attacked him and that Dave stabbed him to the left side rib, his waist and right hand while Navin pinned him to the group.
Both men fled the scene before they were later arrested and the victim was rushed to the Port Mourant Hospital and subsequently transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital.
