Opting to bat first, Essequibo was dismissed for 148 in 40 overs as Ronaldo Schouten top-scored with 24.

Nityanand Mathura (2-10), Rashad Gaffur (2-14) and Mathew Pottoya (2-37) were the main wicket takers for the GCB Select XI.

Kevin Kisten showed some fight with a best score of 19.

In the other match, at Georgetown Cricket Club, Berbice defeated Demerara by 12 runs in the rain-affected contest that was reduced to 30 overs per side.
