DJ Malcolm Ferreira, popularly known by his radio DJ name “Mr Wickedee”, and his two sons Malique and Mennasseh have joined the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) and hope to push for the development of their community of Albouystown.

Ferreira, who was a former Independent City Councillor for the Albouystown/Charlestown Constituency, has focused on issues affecting youth people in his community.

He told reporters that he was keenly focused on youth work, improving the community’s infrastructure and helping both single parents and school dropouts.

Now, however, he thinks he can do more for the community with the PPP/C.

“I noticed that the government invested a lot of money in infrastructure (in Albouystown) and so that gave me an indication that persons were willing to work with others and here I am,” he said.

He added that the party’s list of candidates features a mixture of persons who have been with the party for quite some time and other newcomers like himself.

Meanwhile, Ferreira’s sons have also joined the PPP in hopes of effecting a positive difference in their community as well.

Malique said he is following in his father’s footsteps though his specific focus is on helping to improve the living conditions of the community at large.

Mennasseh, on the other hand, believes that this move allows him to have a seat at the table and push for opportunities for other members of the community.
