Security guard remanded for allegedly shooting at boy, 10

A 23-year-old security guard of Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara, was on Wednesday remanded to prison on the charge of discharging a loaded firearm with intent towards a 10-year-old boy.

Police Headquarters reported that Ted Edwards appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

He was remanded to prison until May 10, 2023. According to the Police report, Edwards was arrested on April 15 – the same day of the incident – which occurred at the Red Sun Chinese Supermarket at Grove Public Road, EBD.
