On April 22, 2023, President of the Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber (GOGEC) signed a MOU with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The visiting delegation, which was led by India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. Jaishanker, was preceded by two recent visits to India by the Government of Guyana and the Guyanese Private Sector Delegation led by Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali in January 2023, followed by Vice President, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo in February 2023.

The thrust of the MOU between GOGEC and CII is underpinned by mutual interest by both parties to promote mutual cooperation in trade and business relations between Guyana and India, particularly, in the oil, gas and energy sectors and wish to expand the basis for friendly and cooperative educational, health and business.

To this end, GOGEC is pleased to have entered into this arrangement with CII which it believes will aid in valuable outcomes for its membership and by extension the two countries involved.
